JOB DESCRIPTION: Interacts with vendors to secure cost effective, high quality products and services. Assists clients in planning for and purchasing capital equipment and furnishings. Writes bid specifications to facilitate communication with suppliers of products and services. Obtains and analyzes vendor quotations and awards contracts. Reviews requests for products and services to ensure accuracy, completeness, authorized signatures, and compliance with relevant policies. Recommends measures to improve the quality or delivery of service to customers, or to reduce costs associated with the procurement function. Coordinates the sale, reassignment, or disposal of surplus property. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of college. Two years of purchasing, materials management, or related experience. Positions within this classification may require previous hospital purchasing experience.
