JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans, directs, manages, implements and monitors activities and operations related to Radiology Services including management of staff and assigned projects. Develops and implements strategic goals and objectives. Performs other related duties as required. Coordinates equipment service contracts, procurement of new equipment and services, and departmental construction activities. Ensures these activities do not disrupt patient services. Establishes inventory management program within department to ensure availability of supplies when needed and that limited resources are used appropriately and efficiently. Monitors equipment maintenance and inspection activity to make sure radiation output is at safe levels. Plans, administers and monitors the department¿s capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets; regularly reviews year to date expenditures and prior year expenses; and takes corrective action as necessary. Develops, implements and evaluates cost containment programs of consumable supplies and equipment on an on-going basis. Reviews and approves charges for radiology patient procedures on an on-going basis. Works with the Business Office to ensure the accurate and timely collection of revenue. Manages staff and employee performance. Resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff. Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies and documents competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions. Monitors workflow. Establishes, reviews, and updates job descriptions for departmental personnel. Delegates projects and issues needed to managers and supervisors. Develops departmental short and long term goals and objectives. Meets with other staff members to discuss progress and to develop future courses of action. Analyzes departmental strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and constraints. Works with Practice Administrator to align goals with overall strategic objectives. Establishes, revises, administers and communicates policies, procedures and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards. Monitors and communicates changes to prevent conflict between EHC policies or other Radiology policies and/or to determine impacts on services or programs. Oversees and coordinates radiology quality assurance activities; establishes quality measures and standards, monitors departmental performance in relation to established standards, and takes corrective action to prevent or reduce problems or errors or to improve procedures. Periodically reviews image quality and exam protocols. Identifies, recommends, implements and evaluates new procedures or services. Evaluates and recommends new equipment or equipment modifications. Identifies and modifies workflow and system changes necessary for service addition or modification. Ensures activities do not disrupt patient services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. For positions with a clinical designation, a Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Six years of clinical or business operations experience and three year of supervisory or project management experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to assume managerial responsibilities. For clinical positions, individuals with a degree in Radiologic Technology must maintain current registry certificate from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or with a BSN degree must maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia. BLS certification required.
