Join Emory Healthcare as a Clinical Nutrition Dietetic Intern, where clinical excellence, evidence-based nutrition care, and professional development come together to prepare future Registered Dietitians. Designed for candidates who have completed the academic requirements necessary for entry into a dietetic internship, including a bachelor’s degree and ACEND-accredited DPD coursework in nutrition and dietetics prior to the program start date. A master’s degree is preferred at the time of entry and must be completed within 57 weeks of the start date if not already earned. Through collaboration with experienced Registered Dietitians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, interns gain hands-on experience in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and foodservice management while developing the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for successful RD credentialing.
Job Summary: Works under the supervision of a registered dietitian to gain practical experience in various areas of nutrition and dietetics. Education: A bachelors degree in food and nutrition or dietetics. Masters degree conferred either prior to start or within 57 weeks of starting the internship program.
Experience: Accepted into the Emory University Hospital Dietetic Internship Program. Completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics prior to start. Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required): Competent in basic computer skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs.; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs., 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs., 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
