Description

The Senior Manager supports strategic and business planning and development for the Office of Network Development through research, data analysis, report preparation, and coordination of planning efforts for programs and services. This position assumes a lead role in developing strategic, business, and financial plans for priority initiatives.

The Office of Network Development works to enhance and strengthen Emory Healthcare's regional, national, and international presence by partnering with operating units and service lines to develop products and program partnerships, ensuring alignment with WHSC and EHC annual priorities, tracking progress toward plan goals, and synthesizing trends across the internal and external environment to frame strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of strategic, business, and financial plans for priority initiatives within the Office of Network Development.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data, translating it into effective presentations, information, and knowledge.
  • Serve as project manager for planning projects — working with internal and external stakeholders to generate partnership ideas, developing project scope and work plans, and producing high-quality work product.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate meetings.
  • Partner with WHSC stakeholders to develop strategic, program, and business plans for system-wide research, teaching, and clinical priorities.
  • Synthesize and communicate trends and changes in the external and internal environments, identifying new issues and opportunities for the academic health sciences center.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships across Emory Healthcare employees and physicians, University personnel, and outside affiliate partners and professional associations.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership of the WHSC and EHC.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing scope, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and work both independently and effectively within a team.
  • Meeting facilitation / co-facilitation skills.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of planning-specific databases and data resources.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and implementing innovation.
  • Experience in project management and planning.
  • Proven success in business plan development, market assessments, financial analyses, and facilitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required (MHA, MHSA, MBA, or MPH).
  • Four (4) years of healthcare experience, with at least one year in strategic planning, business development, market research, healthcare consulting, or a related area.
  • Experience organizing and leading complex and diversified product planning projects within a leading healthcare system or healthcare consulting enterprise.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting 10 lbs maximum; carrying small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, and small tools.
  • 1–10 lbs occasionally (0–33% of workday); negligible weight frequently (34–66%) and constantly (67–100%).
  • Occasional standing and walking; frequent sitting; close eye work (computer use, typing, reading, writing).
  • Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.

Environmental conditions may vary by assigned work area and tasks. Exposures include, but are not limited to: blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, varying floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, variable lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, and shift work. Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, may be required.
