Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates daily operations and schedules work assignments for a designated shift in laundry services. May assist in administrative activities.
  • Functions as a technical resource for laundry workers and orients and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the proper cleaning and daily operation of laundry machines and equipment; notifies maintenance staff of necessary repairs.
  • Maintains adequate levels of laundry supplies and linens and reports inventory needs to manager.
  • Ensures that materials are available and that equipment is ready at beginning of shift.
  • Supervises staff and manages employee performance.
  • Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Interviews applicants and recommends candidates for selected positions.
  • Makes recommendations for disciplinary or corrective action; provides recommendations for completing performance evaluations.
  • Assists in developing employee work schedules; prioritizes and gives daily work assignments to support and laundry staff; coordinates holiday and vacation schedules.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of related experience with demonstrated supervisory skills.
