Description

Overview

Supports the day-to-day operations of a defined area within a Section of The Emory Clinic. Coordinates activities to maintain an effective operating environment, ensures compliance with policies and regulatory guidelines, and partners with leadership to improve operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and cost-effective care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Support daily operations of an assigned Section to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coordinate workflows and activities to maintain a productive clinical environment
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Section leadership to enhance operational efficiencies and patient satisfaction
  • Contribute to achieving performance targets and financial goals
  • Evaluate operations and recommend process improvements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Equipment & Supplies Management

  • Coordinate purchasing of medical and office supplies and capital equipment
  • Maintain inventory systems to ensure appropriate supply levels
  • Oversee maintenance programs for office and medical equipment to ensure proper functionality and timely repairs

Patient Care & Advocacy

  • Support daily operations to ensure delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians as needed
  • Implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction

Reporting & Data Management

  • Prepare operational reports and analyses to track progress, identify trends, and recommend improvements
  • Ensure timely, accurate submission of billing information to maximize reimbursement
  • Research disallowance reports and identify unusual trends or practices
  • Maintain current knowledge of coding and insurance practices
  • Collaborate with internal departments to update, revise, or remove ineffective or outdated codes and charges

Professional Development

  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute a professional development plan
  • Participate in education and training opportunities
  • Stay current on industry trends, practices, and developments through professional engagement



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. 2-4 years healthcare, business, or administrative experience required; preferably in an ambulatory setting. A Master's degree in related field may be substituted for 2 years of experience OR Graduation from the Operations Development Program (ODP). Other equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may be considered. Master's degree or EHC administrative fellowship in lieu of experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly). Lifting 10 lbs max, carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools, occasional standing & walking, frequent sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste. chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work task.
