Location:  *This position will report to our Clarkston, GA 30021 office daily.*

Description

Senior-level driving courier with expertise in handling specialized or high-priority specimen types, equipment, or supplies. Operates company-owned vehicle across metro Atlanta. Serves as a mentor to Courier I & II staff, assists with troubleshooting delivery issues, and ensures compliance with time-sensitive transport protocols. Senior courier that will be delivering various IT equipment across various Emory sites. Maintain accurate records in fleet management system and manage maintenance schedules, ensure safety compliance. Use handheld device to scan and track IT equipment, or supply pick-ups/deliveries throughout the metro Atlanta area. Including assisting with primary route coverage and travel for special assignments.

 

*This position will report to our Clarkston, GA 30021 office daily.*

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

CDL-B Transportation Operations & Route Execution:

1. Safely operate company-owned CDL-B vehicles (e.g., straight/box trucks) across the metro Atlanta area to transport IT equipment, and supplies.

2. Execute scheduled, on-demand, and STAT requests

3. Manage routing and delivery execution; and ensure timely, accurate delivery while maintaining load security and transport integrity in accordance with DOT requirements and internal logistics protocols.

 

Compliance, Safety & Fleet Operations:

1. Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, Emory safety policies, and transport SOPs, including pre- and post-trip inspections, incident reporting, and safe loading/unloading practices.

2. Maintain accurate records in the fleet management system; assist in coordinating preventive maintenance schedules; support vehicle readiness; and uphold safety, training, and compliance standards applicable to CDL-B operations.

 

Operational Support:

1. Assist with troubleshooting delivery issues, coverage for primary routes, and special assignments while escalating issues appropriately to the Logistics Supervisor/Manager.

 

Transport Technology, Tracking & Documentation:

1. Utilize handheld devices and logistics systems to scan, track, and document all pick-ups and deliveries, maintaining chain-of-custody and delivery conformation records.

2. Ensure data accuracy and real-time visibility to support compliance audits, performance reporting, and operational accountability.

 

Additional Duties as Assigned.

 

Travel: Required between Operating Units and Emory Affiliated Locations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education - High School Diploma
  • Experience - 3 years minimum of relevant experience
  • Licensure - Active Driver's License with CDL-B with no recent major traffic violations as defined by Emory Healthcare
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required): - Supply Chain Operations, Logistics and Operations Management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education - Associate's Degree
  • Experience - 5 years minimum experience with at least 1 years in a leader type position
