Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Brand to lead the strategy, stewardship, and evolution of the Emory Healthcare brand. This role is accountable for ensuring the brand is consistently expressed across all touchpoints and reflects the organization's mission, values, and strategic ambitions.

 

The Senior Manager will oversee brand management, governance, organic social media, and enterprise brand campaigns, combining strategic vision with operational excellence to build a strong, differentiated brand that supports business growth, consumer trust, and employee engagement.

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team supporting brand management and organic social media, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture grounded in creativity, accountability, and shared standards
    • Establish clear expectations, provide ongoing coaching, and support professional development for team members
  • Brand Strategy & Positioning:
    • Set the vision for Emory Healthcare's brand strategy, brand architecture, visual identity, voice, and messaging
    • Ensure alignment of brand strategy to organizational goals and audience needs across both B2C and B2B environments
  • Brand Governance & Standards:
    • Define and maintain enterprise brand guidelines, playbooks, and governance frameworks to ensure clarity, scalability, and compliance
    • Ensure consistent application of brand standards across internal teams, agencies, and vendors
  • Brand Oversight & Advisory:
    • Serve as the enterprise steward of the brand, providing strategic guidance, reviews, and approvals for key brand expressions
    • Oversee brand alignment across campaigns, digital experiences, and patient-facing communications
  • Brand Campaign Strategy & Execution:
    • Lead the development and execution of systemwide brand campaigns that build awareness, strengthen reputation, and drive brand preference
    • Manage agency and vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets to support brand execution, research, and content production
  • Organic Social Media Strategy:
    • Oversee strategy, planning, and execution of organic social media to build brand awareness, thought leadership, community engagement, and reputation
    • Ensure all social media activity aligns with brand standards and enterprise messaging
  • Audience Insights & Market Research:
    • Partner on audience research initiatives to uncover insights into audience needs, motivations, and behaviors across consumer and provider segments
  • Competitive Intelligence & Optimization:
    • Monitor competitor positioning, messaging, and brand presence to identify opportunities and risks related to brand differentiation
    • Evaluate emerging trends, platforms, and best practices to keep the brand relevant, modern, and competitive, particularly in digital and social environments
  • Brand Health Measurement:
    • Develop and manage brand health tracking, including awareness, perception, equity, and sentiment metrics
    • Translate findings into actionable insights to strengthen brand performance and inform strategic decisions
  • Messaging & Narrative Development:
    • Advance a unified brand narrative that reinforces differentiation and elevates reputation
    • Support patient acquisition, employer branding, philanthropy, and academic partnerships through consistent storytelling
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training:
    • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to drive brand-aligned initiatives and integrate brand standards into workflows and processes
    • Develop programs, tools, and resources that educate and empower internal teams to align with brand standards, including onboarding and training materials
  • Reputation Monitoring & Risk Management:
    • Oversee brand perception monitoring and support timely escalation and response strategies for reputational risks across social and public channels
    • Additional Duties as Assigned
  • Travel: Occasional Travel to Emory Healthcare Locations
  • Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related professional experience. Degree not required.
  • Experience - Minimum of 8 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or communications, preferably within healthcare, higher education, or other mission-driven organizations, including at least 3 years of people management experience

Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required):

  • Strong understanding of brand architecture, visual identity systems, messaging, and narrative development 
  • Experience overseeing organic social media strategies and programs
  • Ability to synthesize audience research, market research, and brand health data into actionable insights 
  • Experience with competitive intelligence, customer insights, and brand perception tracking 
  • Strong project management skills, including managing budgets, agencies, and multi-stakeholder initiatives 
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management skills
  • Demonstrated success driving alignment and adoption of brand standards across diverse teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - Master's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field Experience
  • Experience within large, complex, or highly regulated organizations

Knowledge, skills, and ability requirements (preferred):

Experience leading enterprise brand transformation or large-scale brand campaigns
