Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Content to lead Emory Healthcare's enterprise-wide content strategy, development, and execution in support of organizational priorities across consumer and provider audiences.

 

This role is responsible for overseeing content programs that inform, inspire, and engage, supporting patient acquisition, brand reputation, clinical growth, and business development initiatives.

 

The Senior Manager will lead a team of content strategists and copywriters and combine strategic vision, editorial expertise, and cross-functional leadership to deliver consistent, compelling, and outcomes-focused content aligned with the Emory Healthcare brand.

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and coach the content team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture grounded in editorial excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement
    • Establish clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development for team members
  • Content Strategy & Innovation:
    • Establish and evolve a unified enterprise content strategy that supports organizational goals and elevates the Emory Healthcare brand
    • Ensure content strategies meet the needs of key audiences including patients, referring providers, partners, and internal stakeholders
    • Champion experimentation, best practices, and emerging approaches in content strategy, storytelling, and digital engagement to advance Emory Healthcare's competitive position
  • Editorial Oversight:
    • Own content standards, workflows, processes, and governance to ensure accuracy, clarity, tone, and brand alignment across all assets, channels, and campaigns
  • Content Planning & Orchestration:
    • Develop and manage integrated content roadmaps aligned to organizational priorities, service line needs, and digital marketing strategies
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner closely with service line marketing, clinical leaders, digital marketing, creative services, and analytics teams to support cross-channel content needs and priorities
  • Content Governance & Compliance:
    • Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines, editorial standards, accessibility best practices, and compliance requirements
    • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and clinical subject matter experts to support accurate and compliant content development
  • Measurement & Optimization:
    • Define content KPIs and collaborate with the Performance Marketing team to track performance and gather insights
    • Apply data-driven insights to optimize content effectiveness, engagement, and user experience
  • Vendor & Budget Oversight:
    • Manage agency and freelance partnerships, contracts, and budgets to augment capacity and ensure timely delivery of high-quality content
  • Additional Duties as Assigned
  • Travel: Occasional Travel to Emory Healthcare Locations
  • Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related professional experience. Degree not required.
  • Experience - Minimum of 8 years of experience in content strategy, editorial leadership, or content marketing, preferably within healthcare or other complex, highly regulated industries, including at least 3 years of people management experience

Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required):

  • Demonstrated experience developing multi-channel content strategies that drive measurable impact
  • Proven ability to lead and coach high-performing creative teams
  • Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and messaging skills with a portfolio of strategic work
  • Experience translating complex healthcare topics into consumer-friendly language 
  • Strong understanding of web content best practices, accessibility standards, usability, and SEO fundamentals
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - Master's degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Experience - Experience within large, complex, or highly regulated organizations

Knowledge, skills, and ability requirements (preferred):

Experience leading enterprise content governance programs or large-scale content transformations
