Description

RESPONSIBILTIES:

 

  • This position requires a comprehensive understanding of accounts receivable management in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of all major insurance payers, Auto, Work Comp and Liability insurance carriers preferred.
  • AR: Responsible for all aspects of insurance follow up and collections, including making telephone calls, accessing payer websites and filing appeals.
  • CREDIT BALANCE: Responsible for all facets of refunds and credit balance resolution including direct phone calls to Patients, Insurance Companies, and other departments as necessary in order to resolve credit balances.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: Provides excellent customer service through final resolution which includes answering patient inquiries via verbal and written communication. Responsible for contacting patients regarding past due amounts.
  • PRE-CERTIFCIATION: Under minimal supervision, responsible for reviewing all types of scheduled accounts to ensure that certification has been obtained. Will maintain open communication and be available to various department stakeholders for feedback/updates on case status.
  • SPECIALTY BILLING: Specialty Billing team members are responsible for all aspects of billing and follow up for exception workflows within AR. This includes, but is not limited to: Transplant, Company Accounts, Bundled Arrangements, Workers Compensation, and Executive Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years healthcare related experience OR any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other contract payers (HMO, PPO) preferred. CPAR (Certified Patient Account Representative) preferred.
  • Typing skills with a minimum of 35 wpm and good communication skills.
