Description

  • The Still Photographer is responsible for developing content through compelling photography and digital editing skills to support high-priority communications and marketing initiatives at Emory Healthcare
  • The still photographer will collaborate closely with colleagues in media relations, marketing, internal communications and other Emory Healthcare, and Emory University departments to generate photos of the organizations people, patients, events, clinical advances, research findings and other strategic initiatives. 
  • The ideal candidate has strong experience working in the field of photography, digital editing, media/journalism or similar field, requiring an artistic eye for capturing engaging visuals plus technical skills for equipment use and editing
  • Photography Planning and Development:
    • Capture and develop creative, high-quality visual assets through skilled photography and technical, digital editing that align with Emorys digital style
    • Responsible for taking part in pre-production meetings, scouting locations and keeping notes on equipment needs, optimal lighting conditions, and where to place the subject or subjects
    • Plan for and assist in photography projects for both internal and external audiences to reinforce Emorys mission and brand
    • Produce high-quality images in both the studio and environmental settings, using appropriate cameras, lenses and lighting equipment for each project
    • Capture the important moments at planned events and activities to support media coverage, communications or marketing needs
    • Select and edit the best images to provide to the subject matter or stakeholder, and manage approval process after photo shoot is complete
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Be familiar with and utilize all current and emerging technology during photo shoots and post-production to create and deliver compelling, high-quality images, in accordance with project timelines and directives
    • Maintain high-quality standards on all photo shoots and during post-production editing
    • Become familiar with and utilize the storage and cataloging process for all new and archived photography assets, and detailed search processes for images
    • Stay abreast of all rapidly evolving still photography platforms, editing software and necessary trainings to be proficient in the role
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate and communicate with other in-house photo/video and creative teams to ensure integration across multiple digital platforms
    • Collaborate with media relations, marketing, internal communications and other key departments to ensure that all projects support the key objectives for Emory Healthcare
    • Share approved visual assets as indicated across Emory channels for widespread usage

MINIMUM QUALIFICIATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in a film studies/photography, video production, or in a marketing/communications discipline such as journalism, mass communications, English, public relations, marketing or a related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a professional photography or video/photo production environment
