JOB DESCRIPTION: Directly responsible for maintaining inventory control within the scope of executing a system of supply order, replenishment, adjustment, charge and issue capture and maintenance of an official Hospital Supply Inventory(s). Tasks and responsibilities will include a continuous oversight of improvement and modification initiatives necessary for inventory accountability coordinated with all Materials Management leadership. Becomes part of staff oversight by assuming a Lead Role when direction and Supervision is needed to compliment the Supervisors, Management and all other dependent leadership or as an information specialist during project or systems management or initiation. Maintain supply inventory records by daily count and on-hand justification by performing scheduled Cycle Counts and assuring staff follows standard protocol for the issuance of supplies from the centralized storeroom. Runs and justifies reports daily to support inventory accuracy. Periodically reports usage history data and stock objective figures to identify status of inventory needed for issue. Follows inventory trend and provides analysis data to department leadership including Purchasing, Central Stores Leadership and all support staff throughout the department including central stores and receiving staff. Maintains and monitors Materials Management database ensuring appropriate units of measures, patient charge information, and Dynamic order points/dynamic order quantities and on hand quantities. Identifies expired items and goods and ensures quality of supplies maintained as inventory by verifying status of rotation using FIFO methodology. Periodically inspects inventory for package integrity and performs or assures staff compliance of stores clean up, including but not limited to removal of trash and all unnecessary corrugated cardboard as well sweeping of floors on a continuous basis. Follow all documentation necessary for charge capture and inventory adjustment. Assists with staff training for all inventory issuance and record keeping to track charges and flow of inventory from point of entry to the storeroom and to nursing, patient care areas and ancillary departments. Recommends order replenishment daily with Supply Chain Management and Purchasing. Performs clean up as necessary and ensures staff participation within the department to prevent the possibility of supply contamination using approved cleaner and disinfectant as necessary. Communicate policies and procedures to staff necessary for inventory control. Participates or oversees necessary training activity of all staff as necessary for Storeroom initiatives, including but not limited to inventory maintenance and all storeroom functions as directed by department leadership and management. Assists in performance reviews as necessary and advises leadership about staff performance and improvement opportunities. Uses Materials Management Supply Chain Management (SCM) for all method of inventory, database activity and reporting to support the mission and responsibilities for this role. Being capable of training staff for same. Represents department in all activities needed to support the operation at all times when staffing is compromised at both support staff and leadership levels. Maintains department vehicles as necessary either as back up or performance when necessary including driving responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent. Three years stockroom experience. May require valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record. Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist. Some individuals in this job classification may be required to pass the DOT physical.
