Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Merchandising Specialist will be responsible for any and all merchandise received for the gift shops, including but not limited to receiving, moving, stocking, transferring, and placing product on the sales floor.

Log all shipments received; accurately verify order contents and post to receiving worksheet; enter quantities into POS system and print tickets; place tickets on product and generate receiver by store showing quantities received. Work with store staff to place product on the floor according to planograms/floor layouts. Maintain an organized and efficient receiving room, keeping it clean and stocked with needed supplies. Work with Gift Shop Manager/Buyer to determine proper placement of new product on the sales floor. Create seasonal displays featuring new product per the floor plan/layout. Store product in back stock in an orderly fashion and fill in regularly. Move and re-merchandise product categories as needed in order to fill in gaps as product is sold. Communicate with management any product issues or layout concerns. Performs other duties as required.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience in a retail store environment. At least 2 years experience preferred in a warehouse or receiving capacity. Experience with POS back office operations a plus. Basic skills in Word and Excel required. Must be able to count and use basic math skills.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposure include, but are not limited to Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-Hazardous waste, Chemicals/gases/fumres/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shocks, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoors/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation Shift work, Travel May be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
