Description

The Corporate Director of Digital Applications will oversee the strategic development and support of application solutions across various areas within Emory Healthcare. This role focuses on enhancing patient care and operational efficiency through innovative technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Epic Systems, leading cross-functional teams, and driving digital transformation initiatives in a healthcare setting. They will collaborate with other digital teams, operations and business units, to identify opportunities for improvement. S/he will lead their teams to design, implement, and maintain innovative solutions that are aligned with corporate objectives. Areas of responsibility include ensuring application service delivery, integration planning with other systems, establishing and maintaining appropriate vendor relationships including contract negotiations, interfacing with clinical and administrative leadership, and fiscal accountability for budgets related to staffing, maintenance, or other purchased services. 

This role will have direct oversight over the Epic Ambulatory, Population Health and Research teams in addition to Patient Access, MyChart, and Call Center applications.  This role will also oversee Epic Revenue Cycle areas as well as 3rd party business applications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital applications strategy aligned with the organizations goals to enhance patient outcomes and streamline operations.
  • Ensure effective implementation, integration, and optimization of application solutions within the organization.
  • Manage a team of IT professionals providing guidance, mentorship and performance evaluations.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
  • Championing digital application projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of project objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including operational leaders, clinicians, vendors and other digital teams, to ensure alignment on digital initiatives and prioritize and successfully deploy digital solutions.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of digital applications and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all digital applications comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other relevant standards.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a healthcare organization.
  • Extensive experience with Epic Systems
  • Proven track record of successful project management in a healthcare environment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices related to digital applications.
