Description

Overview:

The HVSL Special Projects Manager will serve as a subject matter expert in clinical and operational workflow optimization for Heart & Vascular (H&V) Special Projects; additionally, as relevant, will be responsible for data analytics, performance improvement, and data management related to H&V registries and associated vendors, oversight of Vizient H&V metrics, generation and maintenance of EPIC-based H&V quality reports and dashboards, and, potentially, collaboration with a vendor to support comprehensive strategic quality data analysis for identifying and addressing areas of opportunity within the H&V.

 

This role focuses on analyzing and enhancing inpatient, procedural, imaging, and outpatient clinic workflows to improve patient care, experience, and operational efficiency. The specialist will collaborate with stakeholders to document workflows, analyze relevant data, identify improvement opportunities, develop performance metrics, and track progress toward strategic goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Management:

1. Assesses data needs and develops technology-driven solutions for process improvement.

2. Collects, organizes, and analyzes data to generate accurate and complete reports.

3. Creates and presents data metrics and dashboards for associated projects.

4. Responsible for data analytics, performance improvement, and data management related to H&V registries and associated vendors 5. Oversight of Vizient H&V metrics

6. Generation and maintenance of EPIC-based H&V quality reports and dashboards

7. Provides support for comprehensive strategic data analysis for identifying and addressing areas of opportunity within the H&V domain

8. Reconciliation or comparison of similar data or outcomes across data sources (such as registry, Vizient, EPIC)

9. Create &/or maintain quality BI dashboards

Project Management & Performance Improvement:

1. Leads and supports H&V-wide projects from inception to completion.

2. Provides strategic input for project planning, budgeting, and scope definition.

3. Manages the Project Management Life Cycle, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

4. Facilitates collaboration among multidisciplinary stakeholders to drive project success.

5. Develops and delivers presentations on project outcomes to a variety of audiences.

6. Facilitates improvement work based on quality data/information

Clinical / Operational Assessments:

1. Observes and documents clinical or business workflows across various H&V areas.

2. Maps processes from start to finish, identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

3. Works with subject matter experts to develop and implement process enhancements.

4. Defines and monitors key metrics to measure and sustain improvements. Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pathway 1: Clinical Focus
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing;
    •  Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of healthcare experience with progressive leadership or project management responsibilities. 
    • License: A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Pathway 2: Business/Operations Focus
    • 1. Education: Bachelor degree in Health Care, Business, Project Management, or related field. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree
    • 2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Healthcare Experience

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while independently driving project success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education Master's Degree Experience in data analytics, improvement methodology, and management of dashboards with the use of tools such as, excel, Power BI, or Tableau Heart & Vascular Operational experience with an expertise in finance, pro forma development, process improvement and project management.
  • Additional Information: The work will be varied and collaborative, requiring the ability to ask the right questions, analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement changes in partnership with the team.
  • The role involves continuous monitoring and tracking of performance metrics to ensure sustained improvements.
  • Performs additional duties as needed to support the success of H&V Special Projects and quality goals.
