Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain Epic Beacon treatment and therapy plans, ensuring alignment with cancer research protocols and best practices.
  • Design, build, and maintain investigational medication records within Epic, including the configuration of chemotherapy, supportive medications, and related components.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing for all build-related items, including unit and integrated testing as needed.
  • Coordinate and lead validation sessions with clinical stakeholders to ensure research treatment and therapy plans are safe, accurate, and clinically appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to treatment and therapy plan workflows and medication administration.
  • Abstract pharmacy-related data from oncology research protocols and pharmacy manuals, including investigational drug information, dosing schedules, administration guidelines, and other clinical details required for Epic treatment and therapy plan builds.
  • Instruct, direct, support, and provide technical guidance to other analysts, contractors, and consultants as necessary.
  • Follow prescribed change management, time reporting processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Stay current with Epic new version training for all applicable Epic certifications.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members, departments, and the broader organization.
  • Participate in educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and expertise.
  • Lead and facilitate team and cross-functional meetings and initiatives as necessary.
  • Develop training material and train end users as necessary.
  • Design, build, and test reports to support clinical and operational initiatives.
  • Occasional Weekends or evenings may be required depending on project implementations.
  • Provide on-call coverage as scheduled.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years building Epic research treatment plans and investigational medications.
  • Experience reviewing and abstracting information from cancer research protocols and pharmacy manuals.
  • Experience serving as a team lead or senior analyst.
  • Active Epic certifications or accreditations in both Willow Inpatient and Beacon Oncology modules


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy (BS or PharmD Degree), eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Georgia.
  • Two years hospital pharmacy experience or PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency. Completion of an accredited PGY1 Residency and a PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an academic medical center environment preferred. Epic Analyst experience is preferred.
