Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role is responsible for developing and executing a referral development strategy aimed at increasing referral volumes and revenue within a defined region.
  • The position focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with referring providers and facilities, both internally and externally.
  • This includes strategic planning, marketing implementation, barrier resolution, and collaboration with operational teams.
  • The individual will lead business-to-business outreach efforts, develop quarterly sales plans driven by data, and track performance through detailed reporting and the use of CRM tools.
  • The role serves as a key liaison to enhance referral integration and provider relations across the healthcare system.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

 

Referral and Development Strategy:

  • Develops and implements a referral development plan targeting providers and facilities to positively impact revenue.
  • Focuses strategically on both internal and external referral sources to increase referral volumes.
  • Facilitates relationships with community and Emory physicians to improve access and referral patterns.

Relationship management:

  • Maintains existing and establishes new relationships with referring providers.
  • Acts as a bridge between referring physicians and Emory Healthcare providers to improve physician relations.
  • Resolves clinical or operational issues encountered by referring providers.

Marketing Outreach:

  • Develops and executes Business-to-Business marketing and sales plans targeting referring MDs.
  • Leads the strategy, planning, and execution of marketing activities to support referral growth.

Data and Reporting:

  • Develops and utilizes databases to track referring physician demographics, trends, and other relevant data.
  • Creates quarterly sales plans and reports based on volume data from claims tools and EPIC dashboards.
  • Tracks activities and results through a Physician Relationship Management (PRM) tool and generates performance reports.

Collaboration and Growth:

  • Works with operations teams to identify and remove growth barriers.
  • Collaborates across the business development team to support system-wide growth efforts.
  • Tracks and follows up on open issues or escalations to ensure timely resolution.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Leads strategic initiatives that enhance referral integration across the system.
  • Identifies growth goals by specialty or subspecialty to drive financial performance.
  • Additional Duties as Assigned
  • Travel: Travel may be required between operating units
  • Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, business, healthcare, or related fields.

Experience

  • 3 years minimum experience in healthcare, sales, liaison or related work

Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required):

  • Deep understanding of healthcare market dynamics, physician alignment models, and strategic partnerships.
