Emory Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and globally minded Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Enter to identify, cultivate, and lead high-impact partnerships with key corporations, civic institutions, and strategic stakeholders - particularly those that can accelerate Emory's national and global influence, increase patient acquisition, and elevate the system's reputation.
This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and sits within the Marketing & Communications team. It is designed for a highly strategic, relationship-driven individual with exceptional leadership potential and deep familiarity with how healthcare systems, corporations, and civic institutions can work together to drive mutual value.
The Vice President will serve as a key connector between Emory Healthcare, Emory University, and major civic and corporate stakeholders, particularly within Atlanta's highly influential business and governmental communities.
Strategic Corporate Partnerships:
- Identify, evaluate, and lead strategic alliances with corporations and civic institutions that drive growth in key areas: patient appointments, brand reputation, innovation, talent acquisition, and global visibility
- Position Emory Healthcare as a premier partner of choice for Fortune 500 companies, civic leaders, and globally oriented organizations based in or connected to Atlanta
- Design and implement partnership strategies that are measurable, mission-aligned, and directly contribute to clinical, academic, and marketing goals
Civic & Institutional Engagement:
- Act as a lead relationship architect between Emory Healthcare and influential organizations such as the City of Atlanta, Metro Atlanta Chamber, and major global corporations (e.g., Delta, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, UPS)
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior leadership at Emory University and across Emory Healthcare to foster internal alignment and program success
- Represent the Chief Marketing Officer's office and the Emory Healthcare brand in high-level external meetings, civic initiatives, and executive-level convenings
Marketing & Strategic Integration:
- Ensure all partnership strategies are fully integrated with broader marketing, brand, and growth plans
- Given Atlanta's role as an international city, major transportation hub, and home of global companies, ensure Emory Healthcare's global presence and relationships
- Collaborate with strategic marketing, media, internal communications, and analytics teams to activate partnerships across campaigns and channels
- Leverage Emory Healthcare's marketing platforms and analytics systems to measure, refine, and report on partnership ROI
Budget & Planning:
- Works with the CMO to develop annual goals, budgets, and KPIs for partnership initiatives
- Oversees program-level financial planning and performance measurement
- Regularly reports metrics and outcomes to Marketing Leadership and executive stakeholders
Key Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer
- Collaborates closely with Marketing Strategy, Corporate Communications, Government Affairs, Advancement, Emory University Relations, and Service Line Leaders
- Serves as Emory Healthcare's primary liaison to strategic corporate and civic partners
- Maintains an influential presence in both local (Atlanta) and global networks
- Manages and provides strategic direction for the director of sports partnerships
- Acts as project lead and internal liaison for any external agencies or consulting firms supporting strategic partnership or marketing work
Travel: Less than 25% of the time may be required.
Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, Marketing, Public Policy, or a related field required
- Experience - Exceptional candidates with equivalent experience and demonstrated strategic leadership will also be considered
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
- Proven experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships across sectors including healthcare, civic institutions, corporations, and nonprofits
- Demonstrated ability to build high-level relationships and deliver measurable outcomes through cross-sector collaboration
- Strong prior relationships with key leadership organizations on the regional, national and global level to enable access to decision-makers and thought-leaders across enterprises
- Strong knowledge of Emory Healthcare and Emory University's mission, structure, and community relationships preferred
- Experience working with or overseeing agencies and consulting partners on strategy, brand alignment, or partnership development initiatives
- Ability to navigate complex organizational environments and work effectively with senior executives and civic leaders
- This role may also be a strong fit for a high-potential candidate with exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills, even if their background represents a nontraditional path to the director level
Preferred Qualifications
- Education - Advanced degree strongly preferred, particularly in International Relations, Public Affairs, Business, or a related discipline from a globally recognized institution
- Experience - 10 years minimum experience with at least 5 years in a management position
