Description

  • Responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll, which includes set up of run IDs, payroll calendars, and creating pay sheets for all pay groups
  • Transfers Kronos time file into PeopleSoft Time and Labor module
  • Performs all processing steps on run sheet until Payroll is confirmed
  • Notify payroll team during various stages of payroll processing
  • Performs accounting functions which includes balancing General Ledger entries, reconciling actual salary distribution and posting salary adjustments
  • Reconcile AP Garnishment Interfile file and balance AP vouchers
  • Review/ resolve payroll error messages
  • Communicates processing problems to the PeopleSoft technical support team and payroll management team
  • Maintains payroll processing error and resolution log
  • Performs after payroll CONFIRM processes
  • Validates ACH direct deposit payroll totals with the bank
  • Processes employee garnishments, tax levies, child support, or other deductions; coordinates benefit adjustments with Human Resources and verifies accurate data entry for each payroll
  • Communicates with agencies and employees on these matters
  • Resolves time and attendance issues and makes corrections as necessary
  • May process payroll for physician payroll
  • Handles payments to vendors via the Accounts Payable department in a timely manner
  • Enters data into master employee files to update tax and other deductions, direct deposits, garnishments and other employee data
  • Interprets appropriate regulations to establish filing and auditing procedures for accuracy and compliance
  • Assists in preparing operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies as requested
  • Processes special report request from the sections
  • Answers routine inquiries from employees regarding payroll check issues
  • Trains staff in correct use of established procedures and policies for completing time sheets, payroll reports, and other payroll issues as required for new and existing personnel
  • Assist Payroll Manager with projects within the department and when needed assists with processing of the biweekly payroll
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Six years of payroll experience
  • Experience with Kronos Time and Attendance and PeopleSoft Human Resource Systems preferred
