Overview:
As Manager, Digital Engagement & Reputation Strategy, you will lead a critical enterprise function focused on shaping how Emory Healthcare builds trust, grows community presence, and engages with patients across digital platforms.
This role encompasses more than just social media, it's about reputation, community, digital storytelling, and meaningful engagement that supports business growth and patient loyalty.
Reporting to the Director of Performance Marketing, you will manage the strategy, execution, and team responsible for Emory's digital voice across social platforms, review sites, and online communities.
You'll work cross-functionally with marketing, patient experience, legal, and risk teams to ensure a cohesive, data-informed approach that reflects our brand values and supports our mission.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management Manage and mentor team members responsible for digital community engagement, content moderation, social publishing, and response strategy.
- Set team goals, KPIs, and performance metrics aligned with broader marketing and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to ensure unified messaging across campaigns and channels.
- Brand Reputation & Patient Trust Lead Emory Healthcare's digital reputation strategy, including review monitoring, response protocols, and issue escalation.
- Serve as a liaison between marketing and Patient Experience, Access, Legal, Risk, and Media Relations.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant strategies for all patient-facing digital communications.
- Build proactive programs to foster advocacy, address concerns, and promote positive patient sentiment.
- Digital Engagement Strategy & Execution Own and evolve Emory Healthcare's digital engagement strategy across social media platforms, review sites, and online forums.
- Guide content and campaign execution across channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice, platform trends, and audience expectations.
- Collaborate with paid media and content teams to integrate organic and paid strategies for greater ROI and reach.
- Digital Performance & Strategic Insights Use data and digital intelligence to refine strategies, optimize performance, and identify audience and sentiment trends.
- Deliver actionable reporting dashboards to internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Support crisis communications and real-time issue management using digital listening tools and analytics.
- Collaboration & Governance Work closely with Content Marketing, Creative, Internal Communications, and agency teams to build engaging, story-driven digital content.
- Support the development of employee advocacy and internal social media education programs.
- Evaluate and recommend platforms and tools for engagement, listening, workflow, or reporting improvements.
Travel: Less than 10% of the time may be required. Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Education Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience in Lieu of Degree must be a 1:1 ratio of experience to education
- Experience - 5+ years in digital marketing, social media, or public relations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required):
- Proven success managing digital engagement and reputation strategy, ideally in a healthcare or regulated environment
- Deep fluency in social platforms (Meta, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) and review channels (Google, Healthgrades, etc.)
- Familiarity with social listening, publishing, and analytics tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
- Strong understanding of digital performance marketing principles, analytics, and audience targeting
- Excellent communication, crisis response, and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education - Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Experience - 8+ years digital marketing, social media, or public relations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Knowledge, skills, and ability requirements (preferred):
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance in digital contexts
