Description

The Facilities Management Healthcare Standards Partner is responsible for ensuring that the hospital remains in continuous compliance with Joint Commission standards and other applicable regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in preparing for surveys, conducting internal audits, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with various departments to promote a culture of quality, safety, and compliance throughout the organization.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Monitors and ensures compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, codes, and standards (i.e. Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, NFPA, local/state agencies) and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate and support hospital-wide Joint Commission survey readiness activities, including mock surveys, staff education, and corrective action plans.
  • Conduct routine audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and work with department leaders to implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of hospital policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the Joint Commission and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation, records, and reports that demonstrate compliance efforts and readiness.
  • Support performance improvement initiatives and risk reduction strategies related to compliance.
  • Provide education and training to staff regarding Joint Commission standards, survey preparation, and compliance with best practices. Participate in root cause analyses and post-survey follow-ups as needed.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on facilities -related compliance issues.
  • Ensure that accurate documentation of permits, licenses, maintenance logs, testing records, fire safety and utilities systems are maintained 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Fire protection Engineering, Architecture or related field required
  • Experience - 5+ years of experience with a degree, or 9+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, accreditation readiness, or regulatory affairs within a hospital setting Skills
  • Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations, including CMS Conditions of Participation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex projects, and influence change
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in data analysis, report writing, and using compliance and auditing software
  • Knowledge of regulatory/standards (joint commission EC/LS standards, NFPA Life Safety Code, OSHA, CMS) Preferred Qualifications
  • Education - Master's Degree in in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Fire protection Engineering, Architecture or related field required
  • Experience - 10+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, accreditation readiness, or regulatory affairs within a hospital setting
  • Certification - Certified Health Compliance (CHC), Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP), or similar Knowledge, skills, and ability requirements: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments Strong organizational and time management capabilities Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
