Description

Overview:

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Denials Analytics is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing analytics and reporting functions within the Enterprise Denials Management (EDM) department. This individual leads a team of denial reporting analysts and partners closely with EDM Project Managers and other stakeholders to deliver insights that inform denial prevention, resolution strategies, and overall revenue cycle improvement. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Denials Management, this role is responsible for the development and execution of an enterprise-wide denials analytics strategy.

 

Key functions include:

  • Standardizing dashboards, leveraging tools such as Power BI and Tableau, and aligning analytics efforts with Epic systems.
  • This position requires advanced analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication to translate complex data into actionable intelligence for leaders across the health system.
  • The Senior Manager must also obtain and maintain necessary Epic certifications and contribute to a data-driven culture that improves payer performance and reduces administrative burden.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead Denials Analytics Strategy and Reporting Team:

  • Drive consistency in data interpretation and standardize reporting across departments.
  • Develop and implement best practices for analytics delivery and data visualization. 
  • Oversee the performance and professional development of the denials analytics team.

Partner with Denials Management Teams:

  • Align reporting solutions with project goals, timelines, and key performance indicators.
  • Identify and escalate denial trends and high-risk areas for timely intervention.

Develop and Maintain Dashboards and Reporting Tools: 

  • Maintain or obtain Epic certification in Cogito, Clarity, and/or SlicerDicer as applicable. 
  • Create and manage data visualizations using Power BI and/or Tableau.
  • Ensure data integrity through collaboration with IT, data governance, and informatics teams.

Vendor Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor vendor metrics and performance against established KPIs.
  • Collaborate with contracting and compliance teams to address concerns.
  • Track and analyze denial appeal outcomes for continuous improvement.

Cross-functional Leadership and Communication:

  • Present complex analytical findings in a clear and digestible format.
  • Influence decision-making across departments using strong storytelling and data. 
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to drive enterprise-wide outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Analytics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role, preferably in revenue cycle or healthcare analytics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Power BI and/or Tableau for dashboard development.
  • Advanced Excel and SQL capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to obtain Epic certification(s) within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a healthcare analytics leadership role, with a focus on denials or revenue cycle operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior Epic Cogito, Clarity, or SlicerDicer certification(s). 
  • Knowledge of predictive analytics, machine learning, or process automation. 
  • Experience managing analytics in a matrixed or cross-functional environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success building scalable, automated reporting solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
