The Senior Marketing Account Manager is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for leading the development and execution of integrated marketing plans that drive patient acquisition, growth, and brand awareness for service lines, hospitals and programs at Emory Healthcare.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing Strategy & Account Management, the Senior Marketing Account Manager serves as a key liaison between the Marketing & Communications Department and clinical, operational/administrative, and business development leaders.
As a key contributor on Emory Healthcare's high-performance Integrated Marketing and Demand Generation team, this role requires both strategic thinking and precise execution.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned health care marketer who understands the patient journey, builds strong partnerships, and is driven by results.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Strategic Planning & Development:
- Lead the creation of strategic marketing plans for assigned service lines (e.g., Musculoskeletal, Heart & Vascular, Transplant), hospitals and programs aligned with system-wide strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership and business development partners to define marketing goals and identify growth opportunities.
- Translate complex clinical offerings into patient-centered, compelling marketing strategies that support acquisition, retention, and engagement.
Campaign Execution & Management:
- Manage the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, including digital advertising, paid social, print, email, SEO, and out-of-home.
- Work with creative, digital, and content teams to develop campaign assets that reflect brand voice and institutional messaging.
- Ensure all campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and optimized for performance across all channels.
Digital & Content Strategy:
- Collaborate with digital marketing teams to enhance online experiences, optimize landing pages, and improve conversion pathways.
- Lead development of content strategies including blogs, patient stories, guides, and video content.
- Use SEO best practices and performance data to refine content for greater reach and relevance.
Provider & B2B Engagement:
- Support referring provider engagement through B2B marketing initiatives, content marketing, event marketing, and relationship marketing.
- Partner with physician relations and outreach teams to align strategies and drive referral growth.
Analytics & Performance Tracking:
- Monitor and report on campaign performance and KPIs using analytics dashboards.
- Leverage data to inform optimizations, demonstrate ROI, and improve campaign effectiveness.
- Present regular insights and recommendations to stakeholders and clinical and administrative leaders.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Act as a trusted marketing advisor to clinical and administrative leaders, building strong working relationships.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including communications, PR, creative, analytics, and digital to ensure alignment.
- Supervise, coach and develop marketing account coordinators through continuous feedback, goal setting, and performance reviews.
- Mentor junior marketing staff and support a collaborative, performance-driven team culture that emphasizes accountability, innovation, and cross-functional teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Health Care Administration, or related field required.
Experience:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in health care marketing, with a strong understanding of service line and patient acquisition strategies.
- Proven ability to lead integrated campaigns across multiple channels, with measurable business impact.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization and building strong internal partnerships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
- Strategic thinker with excellent planning and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, content strategy, and audience segmentation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Experience with analytics and content management tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, CMS platforms).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Marketing, Business, or Health Care Administration preferred.
- Experience in academic medical centers or large health systems.
- Familiarity with health care compliance and marketing regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Exposure to lead nurturing workflows and patient journey mapping.
