- The SEM Manager will work closely with the Director of Performance Marketing to shape and implement paid search strategies aligned with Emory Healthcare's digital marketing goals.
- This role requires a hands-on approach to campaign execution while also leading and guiding the strategy, optimizing for growth, and ensuring ROI. As a player-coach, you'll balance day-to-day SEM management with strategic oversight, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to continuously drive performance improvement and maximize the impact of SEM efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Strategy & Execution:
- Own and actively manage the execution of paid search campaigns, including campaign structure, keyword targeting, ad copy creation, and landing page optimization.
- Lead the strategy development for paid search while executing the day-to-day management across platforms such as Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising.
- Coordinate A/B testing, audience targeting, and bidding strategies to enhance performance and achieve objectives.
- Align paid search activities with the marketing calendar, service line priorities, and overarching brand messaging.
2) Vendor Management & Team Collaboration:
- Serve as the main point of contact for SEM vendors and agencies, providing guidance and strategic direction while ensuring campaigns are aligned with goals and KPIs.
- Manage budgets to ensure efficient spend across campaigns, ensuring resources are used optimally.
- Mentor and collaborate with internal teams to foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Guide cross-functional teams (including Analytics, - Web, Creative, and CRM) in developing integrated campaigns and landing pages.
- Partner with the SEO Manager to ensure cohesive strategies that integrate organic and paid search efforts.
3) Performance & Reporting:
- Track and report on key SEM KPIs, including traffic, conversions, click-through rates, and campaign ROI using tools like Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, and Looker Studio.
- Analyze performance data and translate insights into actionable recommendations to continuously optimize SEM campaigns.
- Maintain detailed documentation of campaign strategies, budgets, and performance results for transparency and ongoing performance tracking.
Minimum Qualifications:
1) Experience:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in SEM, with a focus on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale SEM campaigns and vendor relationships.
- Demonstrated success in optimizing campaigns for performance and improving conversion rates.
2) Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to drive performance through data-driven insights.
- Deep understanding of paid search strategies, including keyword targeting, bidding strategies, and conversion optimization.
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with day-to-day hands-on campaign management.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience working cross-functionally and with external partners.
3) Education:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
4) Tools & Technologies:
Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, and other campaign management and reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Google Ads and GA4 certifications.
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant marketing practices.
