Overview:
- The Senior Workforce Optimization Analyst supports business operations and decision-making at all levels of the Nursing enterprise through their use of data and business insights.
- This role supports day-to-day System Nursing activities and informs strategic planning by developing and monitoring metrics and leading indicators.
- The analyst conducts operational data discovery and analysis and consults directly with EHC Nursing leaders to provide visibility into areas of prioritized opportunities.
- As part of the Workforce Optimization team, this system-level position reports to the Director of Workforce Optimization and serves two primary functions: EHC Nursing Workforce Insights and Workforce Optimization Consulting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- System Workforce Data Analysis & Product Improvement:
- Perform expert-level assessment of available data sources to discover labor opportunities across the health system
- Storytelling, Visualization Development & Data Simplification:
- Create data visualizations using advanced modeling techniques to enhance EHC's Nursing strategy
- Drive adoption among nursing partners and key stakeholders, including CNE, CNOs, CFOs, COOs, and Department Heads
- System Nursing Initiatives, Strategies, Goals & Consulting
- Execute initiatives to enhance workforce productivity and value
- Support the development of System Nursing strategies and goals with relevant data and insights
- Develop tools to monitor strategy and goal implementation
- Recommend employee and patient experience improvements
- Business Plan Creation, ROI Analysis & Monitoring:
- Support the development of nursing business plans
- Model and forecast expenditures and key metrics aligned with system-level goals
- Develop use cases by aligning technology, customer requirements, and industry trends
- Perform QA testing for reports, and create advanced visualizations, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Monitor ROIs and recommend action plans as required
- Budget Preparation & Management:
- Develop tools using available data to support, monitor, and forecast System Nursing budgets
Travel: Less than 10% of the time may be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in health administration, data science, analytics, information systems, finance, human resources, or a related healthcare area
- 5+ years of experience OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training Skills: Staff scheduling, staffing office, contract labor HR metrics (turnover, movement, engagement, hiring demand)
- Experience with large structured and unstructured datasets
- Machine learning
- Power BI
- Ability to work independently on multiple priorities with strict deliverable dates
- Experience supporting cross-functional healthcare business operations teams with a focus on nursing
- Expert understanding of clinical labor models and productivity impacts on operating metrics
- Proven skills in data storytelling and presenting to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in health administration, data science, analytics, information systems, finance, human resources, or related healthcare area
