The EHC Administrative Fellowship Program is a two-year, full-time paid position that provides future healthcare executives with opportunities to gain an in-depth understanding of hospital and clinic based healthcare operations in an academic medical center environment. Fellows take part in hands-on, operationally and financially focused projects and participate in various leadership activities that nurture professional growth. Furthermore, fellows are exposed to high-level strategic planning and other health system functions, including marketing, human resources, and information technology. The advantages of participating in the Administrative Fellowship Program include: Direct reporting relationship to a Chief Executive Officer, a Chief Financial Officer or a member of the senior leadership team who, in collaboration with the fellow, will develop plans for the duration of the fellowship, as well as for their career Opportunities to observe system-level executives at meetings and retreats throughout the fellowship Opportunities for developing and enhancing leadership skills in personnel and project management Opportunities to develop technical skills through working with clinical or financial databases and systems KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and Organizing: Project management, organizational and prioritization of assignments from Preceptor Analysis and Decision Support: Provide data analysis and interpretation related to assigned projects or Leadership initiatives. Professional Development: Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Reporting/Data Management: Prepares and distributes reports with financial and non-financial impact to projects or business operations, at direction of Preceptor. Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive working relationships throughout the organization that enable efficient leadership through projects involving change management or complex cross-departmental collaboration. Administrator on Call: Responsibility Description: Serve as Administrator on Call for assigned EHC Hospital in second year of Administrative Fellowship.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Nursing Administration, or an equivalent degree program. Applicants must have earned their degree prior to starting the program, with the exception of programs that require a residency or fellowship. Prior work experience in healthcare, including internships, and demonstration of leadership through community involvement or professional associations is preferred.
