Description

As a Senior Employee Relations Business Partner at Emory Healthcare (EHC), you will play a pivotal role within the People Team, championing a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture. You will serve as a trusted advisor, offering expert guidance on a wide range of employee relations matters. This position requires deep subject matter expertise—particularly in conducting thorough workplace investigations—and the ability to provide guidance that ensures legal compliance, mitigates risk, and enhances the employee experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor: Act as the primary contact and subject matter expert for assigned employee relations cases, including investigations, employee complaints, performance management, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure Timely and Responsive Support:Maintain a high level of responsiveness to stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and follow-up to build trust and support team and organizational effectiveness
  • Coach and Empower Others: Leverage your expertise to mentor and build the capabilities of Advice and Counsel Center colleagues, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders by sharing best practices in employee relations, workplace investigations and compliance
  • Provide Data-Driven Insight: Analyze data to identify and communicate trends. Collaborate on proactive strategies that drive continuous improvement, mitigate risk and foster a positive workplace culture
  • Deliver Training and Development: Design and facilitate engaging training programs focused on employee relations, workplace investigations, and HR compliance to build team and organizational capability and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with Legal Partners: Build strong relationships with internal and external legal counsel to support compliance with employment laws and effectively manage claims and regulatory challenges

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Juris Doctor (JD), background in Employment Law, or AWI Certification highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., HRCI-PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) are a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in employee or labor relations within a fast-paced, complex organization. Healthcare industry experience a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive employee relations matters, with sound judgment and integrity in all interactions
  • Demonstrated success in leading employee relations investigations, resolving complex workplace issues, communicating findings, and completing case documentation in a timely fashion
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., EEO, DOL, NLRB, ADA, FMLA, Title VII)
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to assess complex situations objectively, deliver actionable recommendations, and implement solutions that support a positive and compliant workplace culture
  • Experience designing and delivering effective and engaging training programs related to employee relations, workplace investigations, and HR compliance to various audiences
