Description

Overview:

 

The User Experience team is seeking a UX team manager (UX Manager) to manage the development and execution of user experience initiatives. Reporting to the Director of User Experience, the UX Manager will oversee team operations and strategic program development, fostering a collaborative and user-focused environment.

 

  • This role will be responsible for guiding UX professionals in conducting usability evaluations, managing user and community engagements, driving usability analysis to generate actionable insights, and overseeing the development of UX learning content and curriculum.
  • Their leadership will contribute to enhanced digital experiences and overall user well-being for Emory's diverse user base.
  • This person will collaborate across departments, leveraging data analysis, knowledge sharing, and program oversight to align UX efforts with institutional goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage User Experience team members including operational, developmental, programmatic, and logistical needs.
  • Drive the User Experience team vision forward, including program development across core services (e.g., user engagement, user analytics, experience design), infrastructure, community outreach, and continuous education & development.
  • Manage the coordination and delivery of user experience evaluations, including evaluation design, preparation, build, and execution (including end user engagement)
  • Serve as a User Experience liaison to leaders across informatics, design, support, and training teams to understand their UX needs and manage respective deliverables.
  • Facilitate protocol development of standardized and lean approach to User Experience services.
  • Document process protocols and facilitate onboarding and growth of new team members as needed.
  • Uphold a standard of excellence when it comes to user experience deliverables.
  • Understand and reinforce best practices when it comes to the design of net-new UX metrics.
  • Build and foster relationships with key stakeholders and facilitate execution of community programs to perpetuate a culture of user-centric design and analysis among Emory's digital efforts.
  • Drive user-centric education forward through continued learning and teach-backs, along with opportunities for large audience presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience supporting or working with healthcare technology 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in user research, usability, or outcome reporting/analytics
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in Informatics, healthcare administration, operational management, or technical program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in informatics, healthcare administration, operational management, or technical program
