Description

 

The Manager of Clinical Applications will oversee Clinical Research Applications that helps support the Office of Clinical Research and Winship Cancer Center. The candidate will manage the support of Researchers, Research Coordinators and Principal Investigators providing oversight to our Epic Research Analysts, as well as Pharmacy Informaticists who build within the Epic EMR. The ideal candidate should have overall experience Managing Application teams, as well as experience in Cancer Research and Clinical Research which includes - Clinical Trials, Research Protocols, Study Subject Recruitment and a working knowledge of Regulatory Compliancy in Research.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing the day to day operations for application production support processes, systems, projects, and personnel for clinical applications.
  • Analyzes and researches departmental budget(s) to locate errors and/or omissions, balance account records, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Supervises staff and manages employee performance.
  • Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.
  • Monitors workflow. Attends educational in-services as appropriate.
  • Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes data and generates and provides accurate and complete reports for management and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Interprets applicable regulations and establishes filing and auditing procedures to ensure records and files are accurate and in compliance.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent preferred, plus 4 years of experience in health care information technology including project management, personnel management, and application production support.
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
