Description

Over View:

 

The Epic Finance Builder reduces the volume of requests forwarded to the IT Analysts by defining specific Epic system updates which can be made by Finance Department employees known as Finance Builders. This Finance Builder (FB) role serves as a resource to allow for more agile changes in the Epic system. The Finance Builder must either have Epic Certification or will be required to pass Epic Builder Certification within the first 6 months of employment. Epic Builder Certification is expected to be kept current, both via the NVT (New Version Training) process and the (AE) Application Essentials exam (every 3-4 years).

The operational FB will have the security to make changes, such as building Epic Expected Reimbursement Contracts in Epic POC environment and is responsible for testing their system updates. They will follow designated Change Management protocols. The FB plays an important role as a key liaison for the IT Analyst team during routine Epic System updates.

  • The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader who possesses healthcare business knowledge and technical aptitude.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) Highly Skilled Analyst with intimate knowledge of Hospital Reimbursement and Professional Billing Contracts, Epic Contracts Maintenance Strategy, Contract Fee Schedules, Construct Contract Lines, Identify Contract Variances Knowledge of Hospital Billing and Professional Billing, Work Queue Management, Manages daily operation for Contract Build.
  • Ensure requests of contract variances are processed and issues are resolved in an appropriate timeframe.
  • Ensures the on-going accuracy and integrity of Resolute Hospital Billing and Professional Billing Expected Reimbursement Contracts by making sure all changes are communicated and coordinated with the IT analyst.
    With Limited Direction, leads task/projects from system design to implementation.
  • Coordinates complex tasks and assignments while remaining dependable in meeting deadlines.
  • Works well independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Coaches and serves as a resource for less experienced Finance Epic Builders.
  • Manages Expected Reimbursement Contracts, including documentation, Contract build, testing, validation, and implementation.
  • Works in Finance within Department of Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Supports all Finance, Revenue Cycle, Contract Management and Information Technology for all Contract Related parameters to implement.
  • Ensures all Contract components of Epic are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Reviews account issues and troubleshooting root causes of Epic reimbursement contract issues.
  • Knowledgeable with Medicare and Medicaid quarterly releases.
  • Utilizes EHC decision support systems and other tools, performs financial analyses to assist management/leadership in short- and long-range financial planning.
  • Manages internal applications, databases and decision support systems.
  • Utilizes various computer software programs, patient/billing information systems, and decision support systems to pull data and perform analysis of data.
  • Participates in upgrades, assists users troubleshooting, and performs maintenance for Expected Reimbursement Contracts
  • This position provides specialized technical knowledge, analytical skills, and support/collaboration with Finance Leadership, Revenue Cycle, and staff to successfully meet reimbursement goals related to the revenue cycle.
  • Will abide by System-Wide Change Management policies and procedures

Minimum Experience Required: 
• Bachelor's Degree and Three (3) years of previous related healthcare experience in Healthcare Managed Care, Revenue Cycle/Revenue Integrity or Finance, focused in one or more of the following areas: Managed Care Contracting, Hospital Reimbursement, Professional Reimbursement, Hospital and Professional Billing, Finance and Accounting, Revenue Integrity
• Epic Builder Certification Strongly Preferred
• Resolute Hospital Billing Expected Reimbursement Contracts Administration
• Resolute Professional Billing Reimbursement Contracts
• Combination of Education and Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
