Description

The Informatics Business Analyst is pivotal in coordinating projects and clinical groups, analyzing new requests, reviewing data, and researching innovative solutions within the clinical environment. This role serves as a liaison between clinical teams, informatics specialists, and technical teams, ensuring the compatibility and functionality of clinical systems. The analyst also champions clinical information system improvements and supports the evolution of workflows, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that the solutions meet clinical and organizational and academic needs.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Project Coordination Engagement: Under limited supervision manage the coordination of enhancement requests for clinical groups within the organization ensuring efficient review and implementation of enhancements.
  • Collaborate with clinical groups, stakeholders, and the technical team to define enhancement scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Track progress, resolve issues, and ensure requests and enhancements align with the organizational goals and objectives.
  • New Request Assessment: Independently catalog, evaluate and assist with prioritizing new system or application requests from various clinical groups.
  • Collect and catalog new enhancement requests for clinical groups. Assist in analysis of the viability, relevance, and potential impact of new requests.
  • Ensure that requests align with organizational needs, and coordinate with technical teams for implementation.
  • Data Analysis and Review: As new enhancement requests are being reviewed, gather, analyze, and review data from clinical systems to support prioritization of requests.
  • Understand workflow within Epic applications and work with analytics team to run appropriate reports to support enhancement request evaluation.
  • Present data analysis findings to clinical group leadership and provide recommendations based on data findings.
  • Facilitating Clinical Groups Engagement: With minimal supervision, act as the primary liaison between various clinical groups and technical teams.
  • Foster strong relationships with clinical groups, understand their needs, and ensure that the technical solutions provided meet their requirements.
  • Coordinate meetings, gather feedback, and ensure clear communication between teams. Systems Design and Implementation: Participate in the design of solutions for new requests and define future state workflows.
  • Work closely with the technical team in the requirements gathering and design phase, ensure solutions align with clinical needs, and lead the implementation phase ensuring smooth adoption by end-users.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for clinical information system improvements and advocate for necessary changes.
  • Regularly review and assess the performance of clinical systems, gather feedback from end-users, and work with the technical team to implement enhancements and improvements.
  • Research Innovative Ideas: Stay abreast of industry trends and research innovative solutions for clinical systems.
  • Research and recommend innovative technologies or methodologies that can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical systems primarily using vendor userweb/wiki.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to pilot and implement these innovations. 


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in informatics, IT (Information Technology), business, healthcare (e.g. nursing, respiratory) or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis, project coordination, and collaboration with clinical and technical teams is preferred. Proficiency in clinical application assessment and workflow design is essential. JUDGEMENT: The applicant should be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and effectively facilitate multiple clinical groups. They should also have the skill to assess and present new innovative ideas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
