  • Enforce policies for HIPAA, IRB, and institutional data privacy compliance across research computing environments.
  • Support data harmonization across institutional and external research collaborations and consortia.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, schema documentation, and data lineage tracking for reproducibility and compliance audits.
  • Evaluate and incorporate new technologies for data integration, cloud migration, and performance optimization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Architect, Database Administrator, or ETL Developer in research, healthcare, or life sciences settings.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL and experience managing relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL).
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Apache Airflow, or custom data workflows in Python or R.
  • Understanding of data modeling principles, data warehousing, and schema design.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and research data standards such as FHIR, HL7, OMOP, or CDISC.
  • Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure automation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in application systems/administration OR 9 years of experience without a degree.
