Description

  • This position supports and coordinates clinic revenue cycle functions that include charge capture, coding, and edit/denial management; provides recommendations to optimize resources and aligning them with best-in-class performance metrics in specific categories of revenue cycle (productivity, compliance, accuracy, effectiveness, timeliness, and efficiency).
  • The role is responsible for meeting and exceeding operational work flow, productivity and results standards related to the above functions.
  • Coordinates and aligns the resources deployed to revenue cycle functions across the clinical specialty in an effort to build consistency of work flow and optimize resource usage.
  • The position also organizes, manages, and monitors the performance productivity of revenue cycle.
  • Supervises staff, providing work assignments, performance feedback and corrective action as necessary.
  • Hires and trains new employees.
  • Works with manager to formulate a plan for professional development.
  • Attends educational in-services as appropriate.
  • Supervises daily revenue cycle operations in assigned clinical specialty and monitors revenue cycle metrics for area of responsibility.
  • Provides data and reports as required by management.
  • Works with physicians to ensure consistent coding and documentation practices are followed.
  • Trains staff as appropriate on revenue cycle activities, coding, billing and reimbursement practices.
  • Acts as a resource to clinical specialty's staff on matters pertaining to revenue cycle.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent with four (4) years of revenue cycle experience, preferably in physician billing, coding, and/or medical management; OR any combination of equivalent education and experience; OR successful completion of the TEC Operations Development Program (ODP).

 

Preferred skills:

  • Coding certificate through nationally recognized organization (AAPC, AHIMA, etc.)
  • required: CCS-P, CPC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC-H; advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, billing regulations, Medicare & NCCI guidelines, insurance coverage limitations and managed care protocols preferred; and/or GE Centricity Business experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of the AAPC ICD-10 Proficiency Assessment.
