Description

  • Coordinates problem resolution of patient Admission, Discharge, Transfer (ADT) information from registration systems, to ensure that all ADT data is consistent between these systems and the Emory Electronic Medical Records (EeMR)
  • Coordinates with all sources system administrators to ensure they are alerted to ADT issues and are advised of their role ensuring necessary corrections are made
  • Manages and executes patient identity tasks including patient updates, demographic updates and reconciliation of patient Monitors and replies to all communication sent to Making Data Healthy team in-basket and Service Now queue.
  • Communicates with customers, utilizing e-mail, phone calls, in-basket messaging and Service Now updates
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned daily Epic work queues keeping tasks within established metrics
  • Maintains EMPI work queues by facilitating potential and linked patient records
  • Accesses patient legacy records using repositories to research patient encounter history and identity documentation
  • Uses critical thinking to understand issues and appropriate resolutions
  • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned
  • Responsible for the EMPI maintenance and facilitation of Patient Identity functions, for all Emory Healthcare
  • Ensures compliance with EHC IS, EHC, Joint Commission, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines, Patient Privacy, policies, and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in Health Information Management or health care environment
  • HIM Credential may be accepted in lieu of experience
  • Must have previous experience with health information management systems such as Cerner, Epic, Sovera, Healthquest or Sectra
