Description

  • The Events and Planning Specialist is responsible for planning and executing a wide range of events including conferences, seminars, corporate meetings, social events, and more across Emory Healthcare
  • Coordinates all logistical and operational aspects of events, such as venue selection, catering, decor, entertainment, transportation, and AV requirements
  • Develops and manages event budgets, ensuring all expenditures remain within the allocated budget
  • May be responsible for sourcing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to ensure the best pricing and terms for services
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure events meet organizational objectives and client expectations
  • Manages event timelines and schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Oversee onsite setup, teardown, and day-of event coordination
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to analyze the success of events and identify areas for improvement
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to event planning
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for event management, impeccable organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • This role will involve coordinating various aspects of events from conception through to completion

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience (2 years) in event planning and management desired
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with vendors, clients, and team members
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel throughout all Emory locations as needed for events
