Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Serves as a resource for the university community on all matters related to student academic records and associated policies and procedures.
  • Provides front line expertise in transcript production, certifications or diplomas for students and alumni on behalf of the university.
  • May provide academic information to students, alumni, faculty and staff.
  • Researches problems relating to transcripts, certifications or credentials.
  • Requests and prepares official and unofficial academic transcripts for students and alumni.
  • Researches inquiries related to enrollment and degree verification provided by the Office of the Registrar of the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Provides front-line functional expertise for over 60 academic departments and ten schools for the student records system.
  • Resolves enrollment and scheduling algorithm discrepancies and provides reports and other information related to students and the academic programs of the university.
  • Maintains data in the university student records database and corrects discrepancies.
  • May work with school liaisons to distribute diplomas and participate in university and school commencement programs and preparation.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working in a Registrar’s Office setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in providing student-centered services and support, including strong customer service skills and effective communication with diverse student populations, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with other departments and external stakeholders to enhance the student experience.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management, with a focus on utilizing Excel for tracking student progress and milestones. While advanced mathematical formulas are not required, the ability to effectively utilize Excel for data management is essential.
  • Exceptional proofreading abilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of administrative support/customer service experience.
  • Computer applications and experience in a university records environment preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in
the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
