The Corporate Director Learning & Development- Executive Development and Business Programs role is part of the Emory Healthcare’s System Talent and Learning team and directly enables our commitment to build capability and grow talent internally. In addition, as our healthcare system grows and takes on new and innovative initiatives, the role will provide support in designing programs needed for these emerging needs. The role reports to the Vice President Talent, Learning & Culture and will be responsible for the Emory Healthcare executive development as well as other programs geared to support the business including the Emory Healthcare Patient Services Orientation (PSO).

 

This role requires a strong understanding of Emory Healthcare strategy, leadership competencies, and talent management philosophy. The director will work closely with top executives, HR teams, and external experts to create programs that align with Emory Healthcare’s goals and drive leadership excellence.

 

Areas for Highest Impact:

 

Executive Development Program Management

  • Lead the design and execution of high-impact executive development programs that align with Emory Healthcare’s business objectives and leadership capabilities needed for increased effectiveness in current roles and accelerated readiness for future roles.
  • Partner closely with the EHC Talent Management team in the design of customized development solutions based on the insights and capability needs identified through the EHC annual Talent Review process
  • Design curriculum for executives focusing on leadership skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, innovation, change management, executive presence.
  • Maintain program schedules, manage logistics, and ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Own reporting for assigned programs to measure progress and impact of the sessions with desired outcomes and ensure that continuous improvements are made.
  • Monitor, review and conduct program evaluations to measure effectiveness, training impact, ROI/costs, and compile training progress reports.
  • Own communications strategy to drive awareness and support of the programs at the executive leadership level
  • Stay updated on leadership development trends, innovative learning technologies, and best practices in executive education.
  • Benchmark programs against industry standards to ensure competitive offerings.

 

Patient Service Orientation (PSO) Program Support

  • Oversee the development of a redesign of current Patient PSO orientation, professional skills and leadership development for clinical/patient facing leaders are achieved.
  • Support the clinical teams with their emerging needs for business acumen skills and capabilities. Work closely with Clinical and nursing SME’s to design relevant, current and industry-leading content, prepare faculty for each program section.
  • Support PSO dedicated team and remove any barriers to ensure high quality and consistency of the PSO experience for our new hires
  • Work with HRBP’s, nursing and clinical leaders, business stakeholders to ensure we deliver relevant, meaningful and practical learning solutions at scale.

Emerging Business Needs Programs

  • Identify, develop and deploy strategic programs that address evolving business needs for new skills and capabilities
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment between departments on program objectives, resources, and timelines.
  • Consult business leaders to define training needs aligned with business strategies and build connections with stakeholders across teams to develop the best learning solutions
  • Leverage high instructional design expertise to develop custom-built content or adapt external experts’ methodology and tools to best meet EHC needs

 

Advanced Facilitation

  • Facilitate high quality programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, videos and platforms to support virtual and in-person learning
  • Partner with SME’s and faculty experts to prepare them for their program content sections, ensure engaging and impactful learning experience for our participants
  • Maintain regular cadence of incorporating program feedback and changes in the business to update content timely

Instructional Design

  • Support a team of instructional designers owning content creation for all Talent and Learning programs including in-person, virtually facilitated and e-learning formats
  • Develop a balanced mechanism to meet all instructional design needs of the department with consistency and prioritization based on timing and business impact
  • Deploy ADDIE methodology to ensure high quality of learning content for internally developed programs, e-learnings and workshops

  • This is a Hybrid role. Ability to travel to Emory Healthcare locations in the Atlanta area and deliver in-person programs is required
  • Master’s or PhD Degree in Education, Industrial Psychology or related field preferred;
