Description

  •  Oversees daily responsibility for managing the Emergency Management program and ensures all regulatory requirements pertaining to Emergency Management are assessed, planned for, developed, implemented and maintained.
  • Oversees and maintains compliance with industry, national, regional and local regulations, standards and guidelines for hospital emergency preparedness.
  • Leads Emergency Management Committee and develops associated gap analyses, risk assessments and reporting.
  • Develops and reviews policies/procedures/plans related to emergency operations.
  • Represents organization at Local, County and State level Emergency Management meetings and community drills/tabletops.
  • Leads development and conduction of annual drills, table tops and full scale exercises for decontamination and emergency situations including hotwashes, after action reviews and corresponding corrective action plans.
  • Ensures the hospital Incident Command Center is equipped and facilitate ICC activation in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Develops innovative Emergency Management educational tools for diverse populations within organization.
  • Partners with regulatory teams for ongoing Joint Commission preparedness.
  • Partners with Emory University and Emory Healthcare to develop Business Continuity Planning.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's in Emergency Management related field, Health care Administration, Public Health, Project Management or a related field
  • Minimum of six (6) years of consecutive experience in Emergency Preparedness/Management, including strategic planning for disasters and other risks to the community may substitute for a Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare (preferred)
  • Completed FEMA training ICS 100, 200, 700, 800;
  • Experience/participation with drills and tabletops
  • Computer skill proficiency in MS office applications,Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Certificate of Emergency Management (CEM) preferred.
